Although his work hostess forced to eat at least four nights a week to air Tracey Z. Dickson, 44, of San Antonio, Texas, was finished by teaching cardio and boot camp classes and run 20 miles a week.
But in April 2008 Tracey discovered a cancerous tumor in the breast. "My life has hit a wall," he said.
Chemo sapped his strength, while steroid tablets left his voracious, if Tracey ate and ate. "I decided that since I was living a sucky situation, I eat what I wanted," he admits. In four months, the scale flashed 158. "I never was so heavy," says Tracey, who is 5'3 "." I knew it could not be healthy in my little body. "
CHANGE
In September 2008, Tracey's mother tried to motivate them to get off the couch. "She told me that my body was not used to being active, so the best solution is to stop lying," says Tracey. "The person in the mirror staring back at me was not me, so I'm moving."
Lifestyle
After a double mastectomy, Tracey was declared cancer-free in October 2008. A month later, he was on a treadmill at the gym, where they built running 30-60 minutes, five days a week, also forces trained twice a week. In March 2009, Tracey lost 20 pounds. Encouraged, he began training for K-10 and threw all the junk food. When he reached 128 pounds in June 2009, decided to "become stronger and leaner after cancer was in front of him." After reaching a plateau at 122 two months later, representatives added their strength routine and was happy to get to 117 pounds in October. "I could not believe it!" He said. "I had not seen that number since high school!"
REWARD
Tracey is more active than ever, running October 6-K and half marathons each year to double your mileage pre-cancer. "I'm stronger than I ever imagined," he said. "I have energy all day and I think I can do anything I set my mind."
Tracey TIPS
Tricking your sweet tooth.
"Instead of dessert, I'll have a baked potato with baked sweet cinnamon dash. It tastes like I'm eating sweet potato pie, but a lot of calories and less."
Express.
"When eating out, ask that the food is cooked in. It's your body, you should be able to decide what you put into it."
Make a workout date.
"You can not jump without feeling that you drop a friend, is more likely to stick to it."
